IMC Mata Kurlu JV operated a multi year access road and mine services contract for Newcrest’s Telfer Mine. Our project undertook access road and miscellaneous mine services amongst our Martu Indigenous partnership, comprising a team of 30 personnel.

The scope included 130km of MRWA access road maintenance into the mine through outcropping hills to sandy desert and as a primary arterial road is accessed by heavy vehicles, including road trains and the general public on a daily basis. Activities included managing cross section profiles, alignments, grading, moisture conditioning, compacting and rolling of the surface was undertaken by an ongoing three grader gang teams. Surface water management and major works formed part of the scope of works.

Our full project management services included the undertaking of miscellaneous mine and waste management services, including collection and disposal of putrescible wastes, management of recyclable materials, collection of waste oil and managing bulk transport, handling and storage of various hazardous chemicals, maintaining the landfill facility, road maintenance, crushing and screening, dust suppression and remedial environmental works.

Equipment included 140M graders, 980-930 FEL loaders, Triple Road trains and watercart combinations, Murrel and side loader 6×4 trucks, skid steers, rollers, vacuum trucks and low loaders.
