The Butcherbird Manganese Project is a new manganese mine for Element 25, an ASX listed company, and is located 130km south of Newman.
Manganese is likely to play an increasingly important role in battery development as the demand for electric vehicles accelerates and looks set for a bright future beyond its traditional use in the steel industry.
IMC was initially engaged to build access roads, plant site earthworks, drainage pads for non-process facilities, HDPE-lined recovered water pond, ROM, new Tailings Storage Facility, all haul roads and begin strip mining and waste dump creation.
At construction completion IMC continued with mining operations including ore mining, load and haul, crusher feed and TSF management.
