The Gruyere Gold Mine is located approximately 200 km northeast of Laverton in the Eastern Goldfields region of Western Australia. The Gruyere TSF is a circular-shaped, downstream TSF made up of three distinct materials (Zone A, B & C) where the embankment will be raised by a further 5m in Stage 5.
Construction of TSF Stage 5 will involve the completion of the following
- 780,000m3 of Zone C raised embankment construction
- 250,000m3 of Zone A clay liner on the inside batter
- 205,000m3 of Zone B decant causeway and access ramp
- Relocation of over 5.5km of HDPE tailing deposition line pipe and associated instrumentation
IMC will self-perform the bulk earthworks for the project using majority owned plant and manage a specialist subcontractor for the disassembly and reinstatement of the tailings deposition lines. These works will be undertaken while the processing plant and tailings facility remains operational.
