Red 5’s King of the Hills Operation is located northwest of Leonora in the Goldfields region of Western Australia. TSF 5 is a new facility located to the east of the process facility.
During the construction of TSF 5 IMC undertook the following activities
- Cleaning of 93 ha of vegetation
- Stripping and haulage to stockpile of 94,000 m3 of topsoil
- 805,000 m3 of new embankments, decant causeway and clay liner construction
- 265,000 m2 of HDPE liner
- Toe drain and underdrainage construction
IMC self-performed the bulk earthworks, civil works and underdrainage installation of the project and managed the supply and installation of the HDPE liner by a specialist subcontractor. The workforce on the TSF 5 project peaked at 60 personnel and there were zero LTI’s and no environmental incidents on the project.
