Iron Mine Contracting (IMC) deliver Civil, Mine, Crushing & Screening and Indigenous Engagement Services to our clients. Through affiliated company Indigenous Partnerships Australia (IPA) we seek to lead the development of our Indigenous stakeholders. We do this through a tailored capability pathway that aligns business objectives with the discovered objectives of our Traditional Owner Partners.
Jarrod Hayden, Director of IMC Goomarin JV, a Noongar Business partnership, whilst working on the development of his own business growth, has been integral to the development of Indigenous employment, training and indigenous supplier business development across all of our operations.
Through these key skills Jarrod has been able to use this expertise to begin to address his community goals. Jarrod was recently elected to the Board of Directors of Wungening Aboriginal Corporation.
Jarrod hopes to share his knowledge and experience and learn best practice of service delivery to their most vulnerable clients within the community. Jarrod is excited about being part of this organisation and giving back to the community which has provided him many opportunities. Similarly the skills learnt in this space can be shared collaboratively with our JV partners.
Wungening Aboriginal Corporation is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation, the biggest in the Perth metro area and its purpose is, “To provide culturally secure and holistic programs and strategies that inform, educate and address the harmful effects of alcohol, drugs, and other substances on individuals, families and communities and strengthen the mind and body, and heal the spirit”.
They also deliver important support services at four visitor centres at prisons in the metro area.
This place-based method of service delivery enables them to be closer to the community and closer to people who wish to access services.
Jarrod attended his first Board meeting which was attended by Deputy Premier Roger Cook, Minister for Health and Mental Health.
