RAP Up!

At IPA, we are proud to present our second Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) that has been endorsed by Reconciliation Australia.

The Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) program provides a framework for organisations to support the national reconciliation movement. Why is this important to us? Our company values call on us; RECOGNISE. The shared story of every Australian. Strength through diversity. At a board level we feel we can work towards living this value through Reconciliation Australia’s program.

Our RAP defines clear targets and mandates measures through which we monitor our performance in regards to targets in the areas of Relationships, Respect, and Opportunities. Our first RAP was endorsed back in 2017 and was under partner business IMC NEMMS JV. During this first RAP we expanded our RAP working group to include all of our partner businesses and it was natural to make the step to have our next RAP sit under IPA being better placed to represent all of our JV partners from across WA and their aspirations for reconciliation.

Our first RAP gave us the opportunity to embed processes and policies into our everyday and this next RAP is allowing us to push those targets further. We are most excited about driving ourselves to exceed indigenous employment targets and to introduce trainee programs companywide. Our Indigenous Business spend has seen a very positive trend over the last 3 years and with new partnerships opening up access to new businesses that can fulfil our procurement needs whilst offering opportunities to Indigenous Businesses.

We are looking forward to working on our Cultural Awareness Strategy, to implementing cultural protocols and finding new ways to involve our staff in active reconciliation activities.
We look forward to sharing our progress with you as we hit the ground running this year.
